I'm a complete sucker for post-apocalyptic and diaster fiction.  But it's not a sub-genre recognised by most booksellers!  So, as I've lately had very few "fixes", I thought I'd ask anyone out there if there's one they know that they'd like to recommend!  I appreciate that you may well name one's I've already read, but any input would be hugely welcome!!  Thanking all you sleuthes in advance!

One of our other posters, AnnainCA, has some Amazon lists on the topic - they're YA mostly, but there's plenty of good stuff in there:

Dystopian and Post-Apocalyptic Fiction for Young Readers

More Dystopian and Post-Apocalyptic Fiction for Young Readers

Even More Dystopian and Post-Apocalyptic Fiction for Young Readers

Additional Dystopian and Post-Apocalyptic Fiction for Young Readers

You might have mentioned that although Hothouse is a masterpiece, Barefoot in the Head is unreadable ....

<On the Beach> by Nevil Shute. Nuclear contamination advancing over the globe.
There's a series of children's books - I've only read one of the later ones - which happen in Britain after a sudden madness turns everyone (at least, all white people) against any kind of technology. The one I read was called <The Devil's Children</i>. Can't remember author.

Peter Dickinson - the trilogy is called 'The Changes'. It's kind of a judgement call whether that counts though - it's only Britain (and any people or machines that try to enter it) that's affected.
